The ozone layer in the upper atmosphere is a natural barrier for the human beings free from strongest attack of ultraviolet rays.
Technical Specifications on Disinfection promulgated by the Ministry of Health, PRC. has specifically affirmed the ozone functions of sterilization and disinfection:

Ozone is a kind of broad-spectrum fungicide. It can kill bacteria propagule, spores, viruses, fungi and so on, and can undermine the botulinum toxin.
The disinfection speed of ozone in water is faster than chlorine. Moreover, ozone can be restored to oxygen after application, with no residue and no secondary pollution.

Notes about ozone disinfection

The ozone concentration should be less than 0.1mg per cubic meter with the presence of people, and the continuous exposure less than 8 hours.
If thorough disinfection needed, the ozone disinfection should be done in a confined situation with no one at the scene.
